How we metOne fateful night, four years ago, Shannon and Sunir met at The Madison, a pub in Toronto. Shannon was out with her friend Lauren, while Sunir was there for his brother-in-law Sunjay's bachelor party. Shannon was charmed by Sunir's wit and intellect and he was taken in by her friendly smile. Their first date was five days later and they have been a happy couple ever since. They survived a long distance relationship, traversing Highway 401 between Kingston and Toronto on a regular basis. Now they are thrilled to finally be living in the same city! Shannon works as a pediatrics resident at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, and Sunir works in marketing at FreshBooks, one of Toronto's leading Web companies. How we got engagedOne weekend in October 2007, Shannon and Sunir went to stay at their favourite bed and breakfast in Gananoque, Ontario. This had become an annual tradition... but this year there was a twist! After enjoying a lovely dinner, they went to see a romantic comedy at the local theatre festival. After the curtain call, the actors said that there was a special announcement, and Sunir's proposal came up on stage. Shannon gave him a big kiss (her way of saying yes) and the audience burst into applause! |
